Our History

L2P, which stands for Licence to Practise, was founded by consultant anaesthetist, Dr. Pat Doyle, who has been an appraiser for over 10 years, and spent a stint as clinical director at Imperial NHS Trust.  He has also worked at a number of private hospitals.


He was frustrated by the complexity of the systems he and his colleagues had to use, and how little they took into account the day-to-day realities of how doctors actually work and think. 


He just knew there had to be a better, simpler way… 


In 2012 we launched our first appraisal and document management system, and have not stopped developing and refining it ever since.  The work continues to this day.

Lynda was an L2P customer having managed 400-500 doctors at East Lancashire.  When it came time for a career change, she liked the system so much she decided to come and join us.
